Edging made with size 10 bedspread cotton is 2" wide. Edging made with size 30 crochet cotton is 1 1/2" wide.

No. 11 size hook

INTERMEDIATE



BEGIN:

Row 1: Ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn (14 sc)

note: For pattern stitch (pat st), yarn over (yo), (insert hook in next st, yo, draw loop (lp) through) 2 times, yo, draw through 3 lps on hook, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook.

Row 2: Ch 3, (pat st, hdc around last st made) 6 times, dc in last st, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (14 sc).

Row 4-5: Repeat rows 2 and 3.

Row 6: Repeat row 2, DO NOT turn; for scallop, tr in end of next sc row, (ch 1, tr in same row) 5 times, sc in end of next sc row, turn, ch 3, dc in last sc made (sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 3, dc in last sc made) 5 times, sc in next dc, sc in each st across, turn (14 sc).

notes: always leave scallops and picots at end of rows un-worked.

For Picot, ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook.

Row 7: Repeat ro 2, picot, turn.

Row 8: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Rows 9-12: Repeat rows 2 and 3 alternately.

Next Rows: Repeat rows 6-12 consecutively for desired number of scallops, ending with row 8.

Last Rows: Repeat rows 2 and 3. At end of last row, fasten off.
